Ron Dewey: Sculpture

RESUME

Ron Dewey

Artist's Statement

My personal sculpture work is very multifaceted. Representational work for public and private commissions is accomplished in the round or in relief, in bronze, stainless steel, and resin.

Abstract work carries my inner search expressed through multimaterial potential to create forms of a spiritual nature. Color, form, and light form the pallet for this expression. My goal is to express the symbiotic relationship between matter and spirit.

In addition to my personal work, I have a deep concern for the growth of the greater artistic community and its support of the artist through educational means, facilities, and organizations and interaction with other aspects of society. The expression of this concern has taken the following forms: disseminating process and media information through instructional lectures and workshops; development of a professional artists foundry available to the sculptor at many levels of interaction; membership in arts organizations on a local and state level; providing tours of the foundry facility and lectures about the casting process for interested parties from educational, industrial, and social organizations.

The following processes make up the palette of my knowledge. These were mastered through many years of training and experience in the fields of Sculpture, Industrial Design, and Industrial Arts.
